Yes. Browsing, searching, saving favorites, and contacting sellers is completely free for buyers. Listing a property is also free with no listing fees, commissions, or hidden costs.
No. You can search and view all listings without creating an account. However, signing up (also free) lets you save favorite properties, set up alerts for new listings, and contact sellers directly through our inquiry system.
We cover lakefront properties across all 50 US states and 13 Canadian provinces and territories. You can browse by state or province from our Explore page, or search by specific lake name.
For Buyers

Use the Search page to filter by location (state, lake), property type, price range, bedrooms, bathrooms, and waterfront-specific features like dock type, boat lift, seawall, and lake access type. You can also browse by state from the Explore page or by property type.
Our search is built specifically for lakefront buyers. You can filter by waterfront details that generic sites don't offer: dock type, lakefront footage, water frontage type, boat lift, seawall, water depth, and lake access. Every listing on the platform is a waterfront property, so you're never scrolling past irrelevant results.
Each listing has an inquiry form where you can send a message directly to the property owner. You don't need an account to send an inquiry. Just provide your name and email so the seller can respond.
Yes. Create a free account and click the heart icon on any listing to save it to your favorites. You can access your saved properties anytime from your dashboard.
Both. Lakefront Finder is open to property owners selling directly (FSBO) as well as agents representing sellers. Each listing indicates the contact person so you know who you're reaching out to.
For Sellers

Listing your property on Lakefront Finder is completely free. There are no upfront fees, no commissions, and no percentage of your sale price. We believe removing the cost barrier helps build the largest lakefront marketplace possible.
Visit our List Your Property page and follow the guided steps. You'll add your property location, details, waterfront features, and photos. Our AI assistant can even help you write a compelling description. The whole process takes about 10 minutes.
After you submit your listing, our team reviews it to ensure quality and accuracy. Most listings are approved and published within 24 hours.
Yes. You can update your listing details, photos, price, and description at any time from your dashboard under My Listings.
No problem. During the listing process, you can enter a custom lake name if yours isn't listed yet. Our team will match it during review, and your listing may take slightly longer to go live while we add the lake to our directory.
When a buyer is interested, they submit an inquiry through your listing page. You'll receive the message in your inbox with the buyer's contact details so you can respond directly.

Every listing is reviewed by our team before it goes live. We check for completeness, accuracy, and quality. While we verify listing details to the best of our ability, buyers should always conduct their own due diligence before making an offer.
We take privacy seriously. Your email address and phone number are never displayed publicly on your listing. All communication happens through our inquiry system, and you choose what contact information to share with interested buyers.
Yes. If you see a listing that appears fraudulent or inaccurate, please contact us through our Contact page. We investigate all reports promptly and will remove any listings that violate our policies.
